October 05
Whoa.. where did October go? October
has been an odd month for me.. not much photography going
on. I confess to getting sidetracked by all the paperwork
and real life stuff post-wedding. Add in a few intense weeks
playing SWG - Star Wars Galaxies and catching up with one
of my other hobbies.. I've been remiss. The weather is changing
too, it's finally cooling down into the 70-80's and we even
had two days of rain this month. Awesome storms; but I wasn't
feeling up to a photo sesh. this time round, so no new storm
pics this month. I've got a lot of catching up to do with
my sites and also some work for another site, but hopefully
November will be a bit more productive.
I've been catching up with a lot of old friends this month
too which has been great.. some blasts from the past are more
welcome than others.. I guess it all falls down to their intentions.
I got a tip from one of my fellow photography nuts about some
freelance work which I'll be looking into next month, sounds
like it could be fun. It's freelance work for a British Magazine
who needs American articles so could be right up my street.
Time will tell !
Hubby and I are considering a move to Europe.. nothing has
been decided yet but anything is possible. Life is good and
the freedom is even better, it feels good to be in a stable
environment again with someone who's open to new ideas and
very upbeat about life. Hopefully that will be reflected in
my photography again .. nothing messes with your creativity
more than an oppressive environment.
I have a big congrats to a fellow sweeper Iggy, who won herself
the new Canon Rebel last month... lucky, lucky you... enjoy
:)
Most of all I'd just like to say thankyou
to all of you who've been so supportive over the last couple
of years and kept me smiling through some rough stuff.
2006 is going to be a great year !
September 05
Hmm well I missed the cars.. but there is always next year
and my laptop hard drive crapped out *rolleyes..then I got
sidetracked again LOL. But I've been busy writing new content
for my sites.. Not much for this one this week, but I did
get a page about my host knocked up. I love my hosts and I'm
glad I didn't choose the other one I was considering now.
I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised by how well everything
has gone over the last 3 months or so... I expected a few
hiccups but Bluehost have been great.
Added Quick review of my
web host added to the web section
General BS
Woohoo .... looks like storms ain't over yet... fingers
crossed for a few more shots for the gallery before it's done
for the season. Still got sunshine for the car show so I hope
that stays .. but the rest of the time, I'm all up for some
snap crackle and pop lightning.
It doesn't look like I'll make it down for the bull riding
at the start of October.. shame cos I thought that might be
fun.. maybe some other time. But London Bridge is definitely
on the agenda in the near future and I am totally looking
forward to that trip..so stay tuned for pictures.
I hear a rumor that the shuttle won't be going back up
again till spring of next year but what do you want to bet
they don't land it over here next time.... specially if the
price of gas don't go back down. That sucker must cost a fortune
to fly back to Florida... you think they'll let me hitch a
lift to go visit my buddy Treeis?
Added a section about photographing
cars

Added a few pictures of
our trip to Las Vegas to the USA Album... It was hubby's 21st
and I had a migraine so didn't really get too take many but
we had a fantastic time and I'm sure we'll be back again soon
to take pics.
The weather was great and it was fantastic to finally meet
my stepdaughters boyfriend and see her again after almost
4 years.
I just added a few of the Venetian and the Treasure Island
for now. Fremont Street was a cool as ever and the lightshow
is different from the last time I went. The street vendors
were still there and so were the guys doing those amazing
spray can artworks. I never get tired of watching those guys
they make some fantastic pics and make it look so easy.. which
it isn't.
If the couple from the Treasure Island are reading this..
congratulations I hope you guys enjoyed your honeymoon.. just
email me and I'll send you the Picture.
The new slots were fun, but I still had to go find my old
favorites.. the Monopoly Video Slots. They have a new Star
Wars Video slotmachine and they are cool.. only 1c slots but
fun all the same. A lady next to us was betting max and pulled
$438 which was cool.
.. and yeah as usual the weirdest person in Las Vegas managed
to find us. I seem to attract weirdo's and stalkers lol. But
all in all it was fun and we left with some money in our pockets,
which is always nice. Everyone at the Paris was fantastic
as always. That is still my favorite place to gamble, the
staff are really nice and helpful. Despite not winning big
we did end up with enough points on our cards to pick up some
freebies, so it was still fun. I kinda like the new payment
systems they have in Vegas now; where winnings are paid on
tickets which you can either stick back in machines like bills,
or you can take them to a machine to cash them out. And they
have coin sorters, so you can take all your quarters and get
them swapped for bills without having to use the cashiers
desks... great for people like us who save their change all
year. One of the really cool things was they now have ID bracelets;
a bit like you get in hospitals.. so if you are a youngster
that is always geting carded they give you a bracelet and
its recognized by most casinos, so they know you have already
been checked. Nice idea and saves a lot of time digging ID
in and out of your pocket.
We kept the tradition of playing $21 on a blackjack hand that
we did when my stepdaughter came out for her 21st; it was
kinda cool that she wanted to do that for him too... and he
won so that made it even better LOL. All in all it was a fun
night out, even without loads of piccies... for those of you
with access to the other photo dump.. check for pics of us.
Bally's and Excalibur were both nice places to stay so if
anyone is looking to book rooms.. they were pretty good :)
I was surprised by how cheap the Excalibur was; even though
it's a bit further out, I thought it would be more. We got
coupons for 2 for 1 buffet and spa and allsorts of stuff with
it too, which was cool. I still prefer the buffet at the Luxor
tho.
Dont forget its Roddin on the River later this month... so
if you like cars check back as I'm hoping to head over to
Laughlin for that and take a buttload of pics. Maybe it will
make up for missing the shuttle landing AGAIN !!! *rolleyes
August 05
Sorry for the lack of news, I was a bit busy ... getting married
!!
Just
found out there is gonna be a cool Hot
Rod show in Northern Arizona late September.. stay tuned
for pics if I manage to get down for that.
I love photographing customs,
I just wish they'd not cram them in so tight :)
I'm having a few issues with my camera batteries not discharing
properly which is making recharging them a challenge, I'm resorting
to the old bulb discharge trick .. which is slow and cumbersome
but works. It's not a great solution but till finances improve
it's the only one I have .. no new batteries for me for a while.
**UPDATE** .. I have new batteries and the old ones seem to
be behaving a bit better now.. maybe they are slowly reconditioning
themselves!! YAY

interesting read for anyone who may be taking pictures and worried
