Paint Shop Pro Tubes brushes and other cool
extras..
You can make your own; or use ones created by other people.
These little extras can really come in handy for adding that
creative finishing touch to postcards, greeting cards and personal
stationary... have fun there are some cool things out there
for free.
I like to make tubes or brushes for images I will use a lot..
here's an example for a cool way to mark your images if you
dont want a watermark.
I
started off with a drawing a friend did for me.. thanks tree
you're the best.. I used the magic wand tool to select the background
and cut it away leaving me with a transparent background.. its
green here so you can see it.
Then
took that image and added the text..you might have to resize
your canvas if your original doesn't have room for extras..
(I added canvas to the picture on the left to inlcude text,
the image to the right was resized smaller for display here
only)
Once you have the image just how you like it you will want to
check the edges to see if they will look ok against the backgrounds
you will be putting it on... so try pasting the image over colored
backgrounds or photos and if you see annoying edges or errors
fix those up.. the retouch tool with soften selected works well
for blending edges out.
Then goto the main menu and export the image as a picture tube
.. then just goto the tube tool on the menu and look in the
list for you new tube .. open a picture and blat it on there.
For single images like this you can make
it a brush if you prefer or just a transparent layer (if its
always going to be in the same position on the same size image
that is a good idea). I often make frames that I can just throw
on to keep a uniform look. Tubes in general are made up of more
than one image and when you use it it will randomly slap one
of the images on your image.. Paint shop pro comes with a whole
bunch of preset tubes.. don't be scared to play around.. just
dont overwrite your originals. Here I added some of the standard
PSP Tubes ( pine trees, cones and a spider) and some drop shadow
and a border from the preset shapes tool...
